White River Freeze Out 2012, It’s ON!!

I have been fishing the White and Norfork rivers in Arkansas for almost 20 years (yep since I was 7) and there isn’t a bad time of year to fish there and one of my favorites is in February. I realize it can be cold but one year I fished in zero degree standing air temperature and caught as many as I could stand. I have run several group trips to Arkansas over the years but haven’t in quite a few so , I’ve decided it’s been too long and I have put together the best damn Freeze Out ever!!

One of the best things about February is the Quality Zone on the first river mile of the White has been closed to all fishing for the prior three months. We will be staying at Gaston’s White River Resort which is on the upper stretch of the White near this trophy water. I’ve booked the Cottage which has four separate bed rooms with two beds in each room and a private bath in each. There is a large living room with a wood burning fireplace, couches and of course a TV. There is a large kitchen where breakfast on Friday and Saturday will be prepared for you before you head off with your guide to the river. And suppers will be prepared there on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights before the evenings programs.

I’ve lined up Davy Wotton (he’s famous, google him) to give us a presentation one night. I am willing to bet we will all learn something different from Davy. I’ve got Kristopher Bouldin signed on also to give us a presentation on fishing the rivers that he guides on, on  a daily basis. And last but not least, my, main man T.L. Lauerman of WAPSI Fly Tying Materials is going to give us a after hours tour of their facility where the majority of all fly tying materials are processed.

As if that wasn’t enough, Davy, Kristopher and two other fantastic Arkansas guides will take us out for two full days of guided fishing on Friday and Saturday. Two people per guide;   lunch will be provided those days. Check in will be on Thursday February the 9th and check out on Sunday February 12th. I will give you all the information you need to get you into fish on Thursday and after the 3 programs and 2 guided days, you will be able to rip it up on Sunday before heading back home or tacking on a couple of extra days. The fishing will be that good.

The cost for all this fishy goodness is only $850 per person based on double occupancy. I have run trips with 20 guys on them before but to make sure everyone on this trip really enjoys themselves and has ample time to interact with the program presenters I’m limiting this trip to 8. So what that means is the first 8 people to get me $850 (cash or check) will be the eight to go. If you have any questions, call or come by the shop to see me.
